Listen live from your local public radio station
Program:
Mozart: Symphony No. 33 in B-flat
Mozart: Bassoon Concert in B-flat
Brahms: Sinfonia in B (original 1854 version of Trio, op. 8) U.S. Premiere
Description:
When J.S. Bach wanted to learn the compositional techniques of others, he simply made a copy (by hand!) of their works for his own use. Similarly, conductor Joseph Swensen recently copied a piano trio by Johannes Brahms and in the process created a brand new chamber-orchestra work from the notes of a master.
