Program:
Henze: Erlkönig
Schubert: Symphony No. 6
Brahms: Violin Concerto

Description:
Johannes Brahms said his Violin Concerto was born in a place that was so full of tunes that you had to watch where you walked or you'd step on them. He was talking about the mountains of Austria, but this week we get to hear his gorgeous concerto from a beautiful spot on the American continent, the Walt Disney Concert Hall in LA.

1959 video of the German baritone DF-D singing Schubertís original, with Gerald Moore at the piano.
