Beethoven: Symphony #8 in F
Berg: Seven Early Songs
Schumann: Symphony No. 2
There is something extraordinary about going to a classical concert and having 1000 people standing completely silent and shoulder to shoulder for hours at a time. It seems downright odd to Americans, but this is the scene, night after night, in the summer music fesitval called the Proms. It happens in London at Royal Albert Hall, when classical music's stars come out to shine. And no star shines brighter than soprano Renee Fleming.
