Program:
Shostakovich: Festival Overture Fleck/Hussain/Meyer: Concerto Barber: Essay No. 2 for Orchestra Mahler: Symphony No. 2 (4th and 5th movements)

Description:
Last September, a brand new building opened up next door to Nashville’s Country Music Hall of Fame. After years of playing in less than perfect conditions, the Nashville Symphony Orchestra finally had a sparkling concert hall to call home. From the city of legends like Chet Atkins, the Everly Brothers, Johnny Cash and many others, Leonard Slatkin and the Nashville Symphony Orchestra opened the Schermerhorn Symphony Center to a packed house in style.
